"Train up a child in the way he should go.
When he is old he will not depart from it."
Proverbs 22:6

Hope Christian Nursery School is a Christ-centered
preschool for children ages 3, 4 and 5 years old.

  • This ministry of Hope strives to address the needs of three, four and five-year olds, regardless of race, creed or national origin. In the fall of 1976, HCNS was licensed by the State of Ohio. Ellen Schroeder, wife of Hope's minister at that time, enrolled 7 pupils that first year. Word spread, and by the following year 35 students were enrolled in AM classes. The school now offers morning and afternoon classes for 3, 4 and 5 year olds. Because HCNS has always had dedicated Christian administrators and teachers, it has consistently received rave reviews from parents, pediatricians and public school teachers alike.
  • The licensed program adheres to the guidelines and requirements set by The Ohio Department of Job and Family Services.
  • The purpose of Hope Christian Nursery School is to provide a variety of learning opportunities for young children within a loving, Christian environment. The teachers are responsible for providing an environment which will allow the children to interact with people and objects in order to develop their own knowledge.

  • Each member of the teaching and administrative staff is a carefully selected Christian person with a demonstrated interest and competency in working with young children. The teachers participate in continuing education programs in the area of Early Childhood Education.
  • Teachers recognize that each child is an individual who will progress and develop at a different rate and to a varying degree. Age appropriate activities and experiences are provided to meet the developmental needs of each child.
  • The staff works together to help the children grow in faith, confidence, self-esteem and abilities, so that their first school experience will be a positive introduction to formal education. The children are guided through activities which will help them develop physically, socially, emotionally, intellectually and spiritually.
  • For more information or to request a brochure, please email
